VISITING EDUCATOR SCHEME (“VES”)

Proposal & Aim:

In recognition of the vast expertise in the field of Marriage & Relationship Education (MRE) among the CSME membership, the executive would like to encourage and support the “cross fertilization” of skills and expertise between our member organisations. To encourage the sharing of skills among members, the CSME Executive Committee has established a scheme in the form of a grant to the value of $2,000 to support CSME Member organisations. There are two options, to either:

(a) have a staff member visit another Agency/Organisation to observe a marriage and relationship program/weekend or participate in an approved training event which would provide learning opportunities or assist in the development of their own marriage and relationship education program; or

(b) fund travel of an educator from another Agency/Organisation to visit the VES recipients’ Agency/Organisation/Parish for the purposes of guest speaking at an organised training development event for Educators, participate in a MRE course as an Observer for benchmarking activities or provide professional feedback on their program as requested.

Requirements:

Applicants must:

demonstrate present involvement in the field of MRE or significant planning toward the implementation of a MRE service;

provide evidence of support and approval for the VES application from the Agency/Organisation/Parish leadership;

explain what option has been chosen, how participation will benefit their agency and key expected outcomes from the VES;

provide CSME executive with a brief report at completion, outlining outcomes or results which enhanced learning or program development.

CSME support, as mentioned above, could include cost of travel, accommodation and associated out of pocket expenses to a maximum value of $2,000. It is expected that the applicant agency/organisation/parish will also make a contribution in some way; this may be by contributing to the costs, covering the applicant’s wages, out of pocket expenses or some other way.

Applications for the VES will close on 30 June, 2010.
